TESTA Analytical Solutions e.K’s Liquid Chromatography Flowmeter can be used to determine accurate flow rate calibration data from HPLC pumps in just a few minutes.
Regular HPLC pump calibration is important to ensure consistent accuracy or result. Traditional calibration uses a gravimetric method in which the total weight of solvent delivered in a given time is determined and transformed into flow rate, taking into account the density of the solvent. Although the weight of delivered solvent can be determined accurately using modern scales, the need to precisely synchronise the weight with a time measurement means the method can be challenging. Transforming the data into flow rate (volume/time) requires accurate values of solvent density at the precise temperature at which the HPLC pump is operating – resulting in a process which can take more than 30 minutes.
TESTA Analytical’s Liquid Chromatography Flowmeter uses a thermal flow sensor designed to be extremely accurate, sensitive and high-resolution and non-invasive. The device does not interfere with the measurement itself, and can operate over a wide dynamic range, making it suitable for almost any liquid chromatography system.
