Cellomatics Biosciences has tripled its footprint with the opening of its new Nottinghamshire site in order to meet what it says is increased demand for its services.
Its new Colwick premises include extensive laboratory space with cutting edge imaging and analysis tools combined with Class ll biological safety cabinets, incubators, fridges and freezers.
The two storey building also includes substantial office and meeting room space,/ with the premises covering a total of 5,500 sq ft.
Set up seven years ago by CEO and founder, Dr Shailendra Singh, the contract research organisation specialises in bioassays for immunology, oncology, respiratory and inflammation.
Singh said the firm had increased revenue by 100% in the most recent three years, thanks to rising demand for tailored pre-clinical and early drug discovery phase services. And, he predicted, the firm would record further growth as work increased on translating ideas into scalable medicines.
“The changing dynamic of the industry means that companies are increasingly looking to specialist CROs for the expertise they need,” he explained.
“Our bespoke service delivers critical data at an early stage through innovative solutions to complex testing requirements - an approach which has cumulated in repeat business and helped us to build a strong reputation in the market.”
