Drug Safety Research Unit announces new director

Dr Linda Härmark has been appointed as the new director of Drug Safety Research Unit.
She succeeds professor Saad Shakir who officially steps down from the position next month after 26 years.
Härmark has been deputy director of Lareb, the Netherlands Pharmacovigilance Centre for the past four years, with more than 20 years of experience in pharmacovigilance.
For more than 40 years, the Southampton-based DSRU has led methodological research to advance the pharmacovigilance evidence base around medicine safety, advising pharmaceutical companies, regulatory authorities and public health organisations worldwide on drug safety issues.
