Government chief scientific adviser professor Dame Angela McLean said:
“These bite-sized introductions can help get you up to speed with some of the most exciting emerging technologies of our time.
“We hope they will also spark a conversation about what we will need to do for the UK to get the most out of these technologies.
The introductions form part of Office for Science series Rapid Technology Assessments and join previously addressed topics including artificial intelligence, novel batteries, digital twins, 4D printing, nucleic acid technologies, and synthetic genomics.
