The UK’s Royal Veterinary College (RVC) has been awarded the leading position for veterinary science in the QS World University Subject Rankings in 2025.
It scored 100 for academic reputation while its employer reputation score rose to 91.7 in recognition of “the employability and impact of the RVC’s graduates and alumni and the institution’s standing amongst employers”.
The veterinary college additionally maintained its strong showing for citations per paper and H-Index – the measure applied by QS to ascertain scholars’ output and influence achieved.
QS rankings analyse more than 5,200 institutions across 55 narrow and five broad subject areas.
President and principal of the RVS, professor Stuart Reid, commented on the result saying it was a privilege the college would not take for granted.
He added: “We are dedicated to maintaining the teaching, learning and research that takes place at the RVC. I am delighted that the effort from all our staff and students has once again led to a great outcome in the QS rankings.”
The RVC offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in veterinary medicine, veterinary nursing and biological sciences – programmes that support the RVC’s veterinary remit and are also underpinned by an intensive research portfolio.
