Key Forensic Services (KFS) is planning to double capacity at its Coventry base, in order to handle an upsurge in demand from the criminal justice system.
The firm recently completed a refurbishment supervised by lab fit-out consultants Sandell Group at its Herald Court premises at the University of Warwick Science Park.
In addition to expanding capabilities at the lab and office complex, the firm is also planning to add 30 more hires to its 240-strong national team, based at Norwich and Warrington in addition to Coventry.
KFS specialises in high-quality forensic tests for public bodies such as the police and government agencies focused on DNA identification, drugs, toxicology, firearms analysis, and related fields.
MD Des Vanhinsbergh explained: “After refocusing the scope of our business to provide critical services for the criminal justice system, we began to win a lot more work.
“This was great news, but it meant that we needed a quick solution to expand in a short time frame.”
