Bruntwood and Birmingham uni sign on new surgical skills centre

Bruntwood SciTech the joint venture between Bruntwood, Legal & General and Greater Manchester Pension Fund has agreed to site more than 50,000 sq ft of life sciences facilities within the University of Birmingham’s health innovation campus (BHIC).
Its Birmingham Centre for Anatomy, Surgical and Clinical Skills (B-CASCS), and will join the Precision Health Technologies Accelerator (PHTA) in the flagship first building, No.1 BHIC.
The centre will provide simulated environments with audiovisual equipment integrated into mock hospital wards, consulting rooms and a surgical theatre. It will also provide surgical skills training, with both cadaveric and simulated facilities.
BHIC itself will total 657,000 sq ft on completion, housing startups, SMEs and established enterprises in medtech, precision medicine and digital healthcare.
