Calorimeter seals HEL research deal with ICT Mumbai

Laboratory tools manufacturer H.E.L Group has signed a research agreement with India’s Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) in Mumbai to develop process safety in the chemical synthesis industry.
The three year agreement will see H.E.L provide ICT Mumbai with a simular process development reaction calorimeter, optimising process safety and accurate and reliable measurements for precise process control.
The calorimeter will be installed in ICT’s research lab, assisting the institute’s educational, mentoring and research programmes to develop processes for real-world challenges.
Former ICT Mumbai head of chemical engineering Professor Virendra Rathod, who helped set up the agreement, said: “Process optimisation is a critical part of developing safe chemical synthesis workflows.
‘[The] calorimeter, combined with access to H.E.L’s wider expertise in process safety, will be invaluable as we look to develop cutting edge solutions now and in the future.”
