Biotech firm Gene Weaver has received more than US$515,000 from the US Gates Foundation for its gene editing innovations.
The money will help aid the development of the Cambridge-based company’s next generation gene insertion technology.
A key part of its project is the creation of low-cost protein therapeutics for use in low and middle income countries.
Gene Weaver will also examine the application of its gene insertion technology in mammalian cells.
