Biotium has launched the ViaPlex™ 2-Color Cell Barcoding Kit, a new solution designed to streamline flow cytometry workflows through high-efficiency multiplexing. The kit enables fluorescent barcoding of up to 15 distinct cell populations in a single tube using two reactive dyes, reducing reagent use, hands-on time, and overall sample processing without compromising data quality.
Following barcoding, samples can be pooled for antibody staining and later resolved during analysis, improving throughput and consistency while minimizing technical variation. The kit includes ViaPlex™ 405 and 488 dyes, which generate a 15-plex matrix (with an optional 16th population using compensation) compatible with standard flow cytometry channels.
ViaPlex™ supports both surface and intracellular staining workflows and can be applied before or after treatment. Notably, it does not require fixation or permeabilization, allowing use with live cells while maintaining stable labeling for downstream applications.
This release expands Biotium’s portfolio of tools for efficient, high-throughput cellular analysis.
