Brady Corporation has launched the i7500 Industrial RFID Label Printer, designed to print and encode the first label correctly while automating UHF RFID setup and encoding verification.
Brady Corporation has introduced the BradyPrinter i7500 Industrial RFID Label Printer, a new system designed to eliminate the label waste traditionally associated with RFID printer calibration.
According to Brady, the i7500 can print and encode the first RFID label correctly without wasting labels during calibration, compared with tested competitive systems that can consume between 10 and 30 labels following a consumable change.
The printer automatically identifies the position of RFID chips within loaded labels before selecting the appropriate internal antenna and power level for UHF RFID encoding. This removes several manual setup steps and enables users to switch between different RFID label types more easily. The technology can recognise RFID chips on labels as narrow as 15 mm.
Setup for large, small, on-metal and off-metal UHF RFID labels can be completed in under three minutes, while print and programming speeds are approximately three seconds per label. The system is designed to reduce tag waste, support interventions and production downtime in industrial environments.
Automated encoding verification checks RFID data, while the printer can simultaneously add human-readable information, QR codes and barcodes at 300 or 600 dpi. Data can be transferred from company systems via Ethernet, USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, with support for standards including GS1.
The i7500 forms part of Brady's wider industrial RFID portfolio, which includes RFID labels, readers and software.
Potential applications range from inventory and cargo control to asset tracking, supply chain compliance and digital product passports, enabling individual products and assets to carry unique digital identities that can be read remotely without direct line of sight.
