Mountain States Consulting announced in December 2000 the release of MSC-Lims version 2.2, in conjunction with the release of MSC-Lims Messaging

Users of MSC-Lims version 2.2 have access to MSC-Lims Messaging, an optional component of the MSC-Lims product.
MSC-Lims Messaging automatically sends sample information via email, fax, etc when a sample is logged or completed.
Any number of message recipients can be defined by configuring MSC-LIMS's customers and projects and, as with all MSC-Lims products, MSC-Lims Messaging is easily customised.
Additional message styles can be added to create messages in specific formats or to create attachment data files in additional formats for electronic data deliverables.
Other new features in version 2.2 include restricted analyses, new analysis result validations, configurable login batch warnings to prevent duplicate logins, new sample querying by analyte result values and ranges, and automatic export of user-defined report data to Excel.
MSC-Lims and MSC-Lims Messaging were developed using Microsoft's Access 97 Relational Database Management System for Windows.
MSC-Lims Messaging can be installed on an MSC-Lims workstation or on any workstation with access to the MSC-Lims back end database.
MSC-Lims provides sample tracking, scheduling, and warning, quality control samples and control charts, method development, instrument and procedure lists and calendars, and employee training and certification records.
MSC-Lims also includes barcoding capabilities, bench sheet, work sheet and chain-of-custody generation, data access security roles, and EPA audit trail.
