28 November 2006 will see the first RTS Smartstore Workshop at RTS Life Science's HQ near Manchester; the day is aimed at organisations thinking of taking the automated compound storage plunge
There will be presentations on what to consider when specifying a Smartstore, the installation requirements, a comprehensive system demonstration, a review of the system software tools and a hands-on session.
Smartstore is the only small, automated store to provide storage for vials, plates and tubes at temperatures from ambient to -20C.
Mike Pollard, product manager for Smartstore, explained: "Unlike manual freezers, Smartstore has automated cherry picking, so all the samples are kept in optimum condition until they are needed.
"The vending mode touch screen interface allows samples to be retrieved, stored and tracked via barcode, ensuring that the collection inventory is accurately maintained.
"Giving only authorised users access to the samples stops samples from getting mislaid - a real problem with manual freezers".
Anyone interested in attending the workshop should contact Mike Pollard at RTS.
