Cedip Infrared Systems has announced the release of Sentinel - an advanced Windows based control and command software console that gives users a common means of managing a security network
Sentinel has been developed and optimised to provide control of multi-sensor turrets such as the Cedip Pharos series.
The highly intuitive new software console allows operators to select the sensor in use, adjust zoom, focus, select a pre-set position or launch automatic scanning.
Control of pan and tilt movement is performed using a virtual joystick.
Sentinel can also display and control the video stream received over an ethernet link from cameras in the security network.
The software enables operators to display a map of the surveillance perimeter and to locate equipment installed in the security network.
Using Sentinel each multi-sensor turret preset is displayed on a map allowing operators to inspect the associated position at the touch of a single click.
The software can be set to automatically display the location of a potential intrusion triggered by an alarm generated by any sensor in the security network.
According to the specified information associated with the map in use, Sentinel determines the effective view range of each and every surveillance camera installed on the network.
Areas not visible by an operating camera, such as tops of buildings, can be clearly defined to give a real view of the surveillance area covered.
