At Labautomation 2007, the RTS Life Science International team will present 'RTS repository automation technologies' at the 'Developments in Biorepositories' session
The presentation will focus on how biobanks and biorepositories present a number of challenges to the automation community and will draw on RTS's experience with the UK Biobank, Bristol University and the Hunt Biobank in Norway.
RTS has developed new approaches for all the processes involved, from sample preparation through the physical storage of samples and data handling, and the presentation will cover these in detail.
In addition, RTS will describe how the application of industrial automation and the flexible RTS Assay-Platform can be used to provide a high throughput, automated blood fractionation system for processing samples of whole blood.
The company will present, for the first time, the first results obtained from its operation at the UK Biobank.
Three poster papers will be presented, covering:.
Modular automated blood fractionation systems to comply with varying throughput and integration needs.
Cell culture platform for pharma applications.
Integrated software solution for sample library management and replication.
In what looks certain to be a hectic exhibition for RTS Life Science, the company will also be hosting an industry workshop 'Sample management and HTS - novel solutions with library management and acoustic technology' on Monday, 29 January 2007.
