Cell Projects (UK) the molecular biology solutions company for electroporation, PCR, and DNA sample handling, announces its acquisition of Isohelix (UK)
Isohelix has an enviable position for the supply of easy to use, high yield DNA buccal swab devices and related isolation kits for the healthcare and life science sectors, says Cell Projects.
The devices use unique stationary phases that significantly improve DNA uptake, while reducing associated DNA breakdown and release problems that occur on traditional swabs during transport and storage.
Tom Hole, managing director Cell Projects said: "The Isohelix range is an ideal strategic fit to products already being manufactured by Cell Projects and will immediately add a credible contribution to sales".
Cell Projects will integrate all aspects of the business into its facility in Maidstone Kent UK, with plans for new products capable of selective molecular uptakes to enhance existing and new applications.
The company reports that Ernie Poku, the founder of Isohelix, will be continue in an advisory role to further the technologies expansion.
