Mati 4 (Metrohm automated titration) is an automated pipetting system that transfers an exactly metered sample volume into the coulometric cell
According to EN ISO 12937 the water content of biodiesel is determined by coulometric Karl Fischer titration.
These determinations can easily be carried out with the Metrohm KF coulometers 831 and 756.
If high sample throughputs are to be achieved, use of an automated coulometric system becomes economical.
Also here Metrohm offers an optimal solution that meets the requirements of EN ISO 12937.
Mati 4 (Metrohm automated titration) is an automated pipetting system that transfers an exactly metered sample volume into the coulometric cell.
In a first step the sample is given into a sample vial, which is then hermetically sealed with a septum cover.
This reliably prevents changes of the water content in the sample vial.
Before sample metering, the pipetting tubing is rinsed with conditioned KF reagent to remove any humidity that would falsify the result.
In the next step a defined sample volume is aspirated into the pipetting tubing by means of a sampling needle and transferred to the KF cell.
The results yielded by this method agree very well with the manually obtained ones and excel by their reproducibility.
