Delp introduces the Ova10, a new explosion-proof laboratory tool for safely mixing hazardous materials
The new Ova10, an open vessel adapter for 10mm shafting, is a non-sparking device designed to mix volatile materials in open vessels at the bench-scale level.
Suitable for mixing pyrophoric materials in applications where over-pressurisation concerns or process design prevent the use of a closed vessel, the Ova10 provides the benefits of large-scale (drum style) explosion-proof mixer in a bench-scale size.
Users working with small quantities of materials will appreciate that the Ova10 can be used in beakers, bottles, flasks or open reaction vessels and unlike bulky drum mixers, does not clamp-on to the side of the reaction vessel.
Because of its simple design and light weight the Ova10 can be attached to common lab stands and mounting frames or, for a quick mix, can be hand held.
The Ova10 operates with all chuck-style flexible-cable equipped motors and accepts standard glass, coated or metal shafting and agitators; in operations where a non-sparking motor is not required the device can be directly coupled to chuck-style overhead motors.
The Ova10 is manufactured from 316 stainless steel to withstand aggressive chemical regimes and autoclave sterilisation.
Priced under US$2000, the Ova10 package includes: 36 or 60inch flexible drive cable (attaches to any drive motor with a 5/16inch or 8mm diameter shaft), Ova10 stand mount (half-inch diameter rod that attaches to all lab stands and mounting grids) and Ova10 adapter (accepts 10mm glass, coated or metal stir shafts).
