Joint internet site for Medica, the world's largest medical trade fair and the Medica Congress (2006: 137,503 visitors and 4200 exhibitors) has a new layout and a host of new services
To make its website easier for users, Medica now has a brand new design, a completely revised structure and an extended service portfolio.
New features include fast routing to frequently called-up, target-group oriented areas via central links.
These are arranged like an index and carry the titles: Exhibitor Services, Visitor Services, Press Services or Companies and Products.
In addition, the pages are now largely barrier-free - which means they can be processed by braille software and have a wide choice of colours, brightness levels and font sizes which can be adapted to readers who require special (visual) needs.
The podcast for the Medica Web TV will also be gradually expanded in collaboration with the cooperation partner DocCheck TV.
Horst Giesen, project director for Medica, says there has been a strong demand for this relatively new internet content on the website.
"Over the six weeks prior to the opening of Medica 2006, 250,000 internet users watched and listened to the video and/or audio clips covering topics of the event.
"So in future, this area should be of growing importance to our exhibitors because Medica gives them a tool to establish direct contact with their target groups during the run-up to the fair".
Several exhibitors from Medica 2006 made use of this facility, presenting their companies and products with up to ten-minute films on the Medica Web TV.
With a rising number of hits, Messe Dusseldorf predict that more exhibitors will want to use this service, particularly as feature films can be produced rapidly on highly topical themes.
DocCheck TV estimates that less than 24 hours of production time are needed between the first take and the finished web-compatible feature.
Compamed, the international trade fair for supplies for medical manufacturing (held in parallel with Medica), has its own website.
This will also be revitalised and upgraded with additional services following the example of Medica.
Medica 2007 will be held in Dusseldorf from 14 to 17 November 2007.
Compamed 2007, (components, parts and raw materials for medical manufacturing), will be in parallel from 14 to 16 November 2007.
