Malvern Instruments has appointed Ulf Willen to the position of product manager for the company's morphological imaging systems, part of the company's recently formed analytical imaging systems group
Having worked for Malvern for more than 20 years, Ulf Willen brings valuable experience coupled with strong technical, commercial and business skills.
He moves into the UK-based product management role from the highly successful Malvern Nordic subsidiary where he was general manager for a number of years.
Malvern's analytical imaging group comprises both chemical imaging and morphological imaging.
It was created with the acquisition last year of Spectral Dimensions.
This acquisition added the exciting new technology of near infrared chemical imaging (NIR-CI) to Malvern's existing morphological imaging capabilities.
Malvern's morphological imaging portfolio includes the Morphologi G2 high sensitivity particle image analyser, and the Sysmex FPIA-3000 particle size and shape analyser.
In chemical imaging, Malvern's new Synirgi system, launched in February this year (2007), is expected to be instrumental in continuing the migration of this technology from its specialist roots into routine use.
