Rich-Mond believes a buoyant reconditioned lab equipment market has been fuelled by the increasing numbers of laboratory start ups meaning more customers seeking best value
North West-based reconditioned lab equipment broker Rich-Mond has made a six-figure investment in new premises in Wigan.
The 1600m2 unit on Bradley Hall trading estate in Standish will give the company space to keep more than 2000 items in stock.
The investment co-incides with a record annual number of laboratory clearances and a forecast that turnover will increase by almost 20% by the company's year end in May.
The company believes more customers - especially bio diesel manufacturers - are seeing value in the environmental benefits of using reconditioned equipment.
In a buoyant statement Rich-Mond managing director Nick Edmond said: "These are exciting times for Rich-Mond.
"The number of start up lab customers has greatly increased.
"That's great news for the company but great news for science in Great Britain too.
"Outside the UK, export sales have more than doubled so far this year.
And wherever the client is based, there's a growing trend to be actively more environmentally conscious which makes reconditioned lab equipment the perfect solution.
"Our growing reputation has meant that the number of people asking us to clear their lab of surplus equipment has increased too - and that's further enhancing our range and item quality".
Rich-Mond has provided contract laboratories with equipment for nearly 15 years.
The company continues to provide a broad range of reconditioned equipment for laboratories in all sectors including microbiology, environmental testing and analytical chemistry.
Edmond adds: "Our new premises will play a crucial part in our plans for continued growth.
"We will be able to stock more than 2000 separate lab items enabling us to fulfil customer orders even more efficiently than before".
Rich-Mond Agencies is hosting an open day on 25 April 2007.
