The good design award identifies products that contribute to quality of life and industry via the power of design, honouring those that pass specified standards with the G-mark.
Liquiport, KNF's compact liquid pump with low vibration and superior anti-corrosion properties, has won the good design award 2006, Japan's only comprehensive design award, hosted by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organisation (JIDPO).
On October 2006, G-mark's 50th anniversary, a 73-strong council accredited 1034 G-mark products out of 2918 nominees.
"The Liquiport is the second KNF pump to win the good design award; one of our gas pumps has been awarded previously," said Tadaomi Matsuoka, president of KNF Japan.
"When I first saw the Liquiport, I was impressed with its usability that comes from its ergonomic design.
"It oozes originality, and there really is no other pump like this in the world, so we decided to nominate it for the Good Design Award.
"The Liquiport already has a good reputation with our customers, and it will hopefully become even better known for its original design and functionality".
The judging panel noted the Liquiport's user-friendly design that fits its usage environment, and specifically recognised its superior design for solving users' problems at a high level, as well as for its consideration towards maintenance, improvements, and expansion during usage.
