Thermo Fisher Scientific has opened a new Dublin-based customer service facility that offers the Irish scientific community direct supply access to its range of laboratory products
The customer service facility, at Ballycoolin in Blanchardstown, will cover the republic of Ireland and includes a field sales team, office-based customer support representatives, and a portfolio of over 100,000 products, from laboratory chemicals to consumables to equipment.
Commenting on the investment, a company spokesperson for Fisher Scientific northern Europe, said that the new service facility reflects the company's ongoing commitment to meeting the highest standards for serving customers in Ireland, which is rapidly becoming a centre for the world's leading pharmaceutical manufacturers.
"We are very pleased to open this new service centre, which will give our Irish customers greater access to our range of products and services," the spokesperson said.
"We have long recognised that Ireland has developed a unique European presence within the pharmaceutical and academic world.
"We are sure that our support will be of great benefit to the scientific community there.
"Research scientists and technicians, purchasing professionals and all those involved in the procurement of laboratory supplies can register for their Fisher Scientific 2007 catalogues, which contain more than 2300 pages of the latest laboratory products, by logging on to the company's new Irish website.
"Customers also have the opportunity to search, select and order their requirements through a new web catalogue.
"This offers real-time availability information, favourites listing, order tracking and certificates of analysis and MSDS print out.
