Cellexus Biosystems has entered into a non-exclusive distribution agreement with Appropriate Technical Resources (ATR) to distribute Cellexus Biosystems products throughout the USA
The agreement marks a significant boost to the sales reach of Cellexus Biosystems within the USA, and will provide its growing customer base with further local support.
It represents a substantial milestone for both companies and is one of several steps that Cellexus is taking to expand its market share in the US.
Commenting on the agreement, CEO at Cellexus Biosystems, Kevin Auton said: "We are very pleased to enter into this formal agreement with ATR.
"We have worked quietly behind the scenes with ATR for six months, establishing a close relationship and planning how best to serve the world's largest community of bioresearchers.
"As a partner, ATR is a great fit for us.
"It knows our customers and the challenges that face them.
"It has a collaborative approach that our customers welcome and they're recognised for their ability to sell and support bioreactor instrumentation and consumables.
"ATR will be supported by our applications laboratory facility in the Mountain Top Campus at Lehigh University (Pennsylvania).
"This laboratory will develop new protocols for cell culture, test new products that Cellexus are launching throughout 2007 and serve as a demonstration and support centre for ATR's customers".
ATR's vice president, LuAnn Bisciano commented: "ATR is very excited about having the opportunity to work alongside Cellexus and to have been selected to bring CellMaker products to customers in the USA.
"The Cellexus technology is the type of innovation that we know our customers have been seeking and we look forward to presenting these products to our customer base.
"We have sold over 5000 flask shaker systems into the US market, and many of our customers are looking to scale-up to higher volumes but are discouraged by the thought of using a traditional bioreactor.
"The CellMaker Lite2 will give our customers the opportunity to scale-up without the complexity of using a glass or stainless steel bioreactor.
"The CellMaker product range is a much needed option in the market."
