The AC-4 is described as the perfect compact analyser for any haemostasis laboratory, offering performance beyond that of comparable systems in an easy-to-use, ultra-reliable forma
Helena Biosciences has added cap-piercing as standard to its AC-4 automated coagulation analyser.
The AC-4 is fully automated, producing fast, accurate and reliable results from coagulation, chromogenic and immunoturbidometric assays.
Optimum through put of standard Prothrombin tests are in excess of 100 per hour or up to 45 activated Partial Thromboplastin Time tests per hour.
It uses a photometric measurement system with amplified four-channel optics that delivers high precision, even with icteric and lipaemic samples.
Assays and reagents available from Helena for the AC-4 comprise standard clotting assays such as PT, APTT, TCT, Fibrinogen and factor deficient assays, chromogenic assays for protein C, anti Xa, and Heparin, and immunoturbidometric D-Dimer kits.
It features fully-optimised reagent handling with incubated positions at 37C, ambient and 15C with an on-board, colour coded key for correct reagent placement.
The AC-4 features an internal barcode reader for each sample, allowing complete positive patient identification along with bi-directional Lims communication.
Measurements can be displayed in over 12 different configurable units, including calculations of international normalised ratios, percentage activity and quantitative measurements for concentration.
Jane Lee-Prudhoe, haemostasis product specialist at Helena Biosciences, said: "At Helena, we ensure our instruments offer the best performance available.
"The addition of cap-piercing, as standard, to the AC-4 adds another important feature to an already outstanding analyser."
