Olympus UK is combining its consumer and scientific operations into one headquarters in Watford with the move taking place in phases starting late September 2007
The move is in response to growth in key business areas leading to increased demand for training and demonstration facilities.
It will see the company's central London and Southall offices close and all functions re-locate to a newly refurbished building close to the M1/M25 motorways.
The new premises will be more accessible to customers across the country and boast numerous benefits including new and larger demonstration areas plus more on site training capacity for both scientific and consumer products.
Piers Devereux, MD scientific: "Olympus are delighted to be moving to our new building in Watford, we have made a significant investment in state of the art facilities which reflects our commitment to our growing life science business".
Graeme Chapman, MD consumer: "It is with a tinge of sadness that we leave our EC1 offices after more than 30 years but the business is growing and this is an opportunity to bring the two areas of the business closer together and benefit from a better working environment and greatly improved facilities for our customers".
The following business areas are included in the move: scientific: diagnostics and microscopes which will move in stages from late September; and consumer - imaging and voice which plans to be on site by early November.
