Symyx Isentris 3.0 bridges internal and external information in a single search, alerting researchers to relevant data and integrating leading scientific tools on the desktop
Symyx Technologies announces enhancements to the MDL Isentris informatics system (now known as Symyx Isentris), giving research organisations improved ability to speed R+D experimentation, reduce costs and improve productivity.
"By delivering appropriate information into workflows, Symyx Isentris 3.0 ensures that researchers make informed decisions," said Timothy Campbell, president of Symyx Software.
"As researchers browse data, Isentris performs simultaneous searches in the background, flagging important toxicity data, biological activity, in-house and commercial compound availability - instantly pushing relevant information to researchers.
"This critical information would otherwise require multiple specific searches to find or possibly be missed".
Available today, the new capabilities in Isentris 3.0 offer significant enhancements over its predecessor, Isis.
Symyx Isentris enables scientist-empowered access, personalised data views, flagging of relevant data and other features that dramatically improve the efficiency and productivity of scientific research and development.
With easy deployment and many out-of-the-box productivity features, Symyx Isentris integrates applications, data and business rules.
"The vision and strategy underlying Isentris grew out of extensive discussions with our customers," said Trevor Heritage, senior vice president of science, Symyx Software.
"By listening closely, we gained an intimate understanding of the challenges scientists face in accessing, processing, managing and analysing data.
"The solution that has emerged is the most powerful system for knowledge registration, information delivery and decision support available today".
With Isentris 3.0, researchers can quickly create forms to retrieve the precise chemical and biological data they want, without relying on IT assistance.
Researchers can save sophisticated searches and use the same forms to generate comprehensive reports for sharing with colleagues.
Synthetic chemists can formulate reaction plans using a powerful reaction planning tool while leveraging access to the world's largest set of reaction databases - over 17 million reactions - including access to CrossFire Beilstein, other Symyx reaction data sources and in-house reaction data.
Once researchers identify the exact information they need, Isentris provides power to manipulate data and presentation in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, visualize test results using visual analytics software like Tibco Spotfire DecisionSite, enrich data using web services and industry-standard calculators and apply nomenclature software, NMR and molecular property predictors from ACD/Labs.
