The BQM measurement device produces instantaneous information pertaining to box shear stiffness which directly relates to the structural integrity of corrugated medium (flutes)
A new non-destructive, hand-held corrugate box quality measurement device, BQM, measures corrugated box shear stiffness.
TMI announces the acquisition of BQM-1, a new measurement device invented by XQ Innovations, Australia.
"The company has produced successful trials with the BQM measurement device at several international research groups and corrugated box manufactures with very exciting results," says Dave Muchorski, VP of marketing, TMI.
The inventor, Russell Allen, says: "Until now, the industry has accepted an inherent degree of performance loss which leads to over specifications of board grades by as much as 30%.
"The potential for substantial reductions in both material use and energy has strong attraction, both commercially and environmentally."
