Formerly LGC Promochem, LGC Standards has recently been voted the best company in the Spanish Pharmaceutical industry for the supply of crucial Reference Materials
The poll of 200 major pharmaceutical companies was conducted by the journal Industria Farmaceutica for the 'Best for quality and technical innovation' in 2007.
The award will be presented to LGC Standards at the prestigious Premios a la Calidad e Innovacion Tecnologica dinner at the Hotel Arts Barcelona on 13 December 2007, attended by leading pharmaceutical production laboratories in Spain.
Part of LGC, a major UK science-based service company, LGC Standards has rationalised its range of products and services to offer solutions to all the quality management needs for all analytical and development laboratories.
Rapid and efficient supply of reference materials and substances is key to the success of laboratory projects and pharmaceutical product development, with the areas of proficiency testing, custom synthesis and analytical training becoming increasingly important.
"This award confirms the LGC Standards business strategy - to expand our portfolio of products and services in the sector of quality control internationally and become the supplier of choice for pharmaceutical customers," states Matthias Brommer, director, LGC Standards division.
"We recognised that laboratories need more than simply the supply of vital reference materials - so we have embarked upon a strategy of expansion of services by internal development and acquisition - this award is both a testimonial and endorsement of this strategy and our commitment to customer service and satisfaction".
LGC Standards offers a comprehensive range of services to pharmaceutical R and D and manufacturing.
In addition to extensive expertise in reference materials production and certification, LGC Standards has successfully carved out a global niche, producing impurity standards, working standards, and also supplying pharmacopeia reference materials.
These activities are supplemented with customer synthesis of impurities and metabolites, characterisation, certification and distribution services.
