Aperio Technologies invites interested pathology professionals in Europe to join them for their new seminar series, to be held in early March 2008 at select locations
The one day local events will be offered free of charge, and are designed to bring pathology, biology, and histology attendees together to learn new techniques for working with whole slide digital pathology images.
The seminar series will be offered on the following dates, at three locations:.
3 March 2008: Sir James Black Conference Center, AstraZeneca, Alderly Edge, Macclesfield, Cheshire, UK.
5 March 2008: Lindner Hotel, Frankfurt, Germany.
7 March 2008: Swissotel Le Plaza, Basel, Switzerland.
Each seminar will feature leading pharmaceutical industry professionals as well as Aperio scientists, and will discuss how digital pathology is used in discovery, preclinical, and clinical trials environments.
The programme will feature the following speakers from the pathology industry:.
Frank Voelker, retired, Novartis, presenting 'Image analysis in toxicological pathology.
Alison Bigley, AstraZeneca, presenting 'Image data management in discovery; AstraZeneca experiences'.
Jason Hill, director molecular biology, Targeted Molecular Diagnostics, presenting 'Image analysis with phosphorylation and cytoplasm protein biomarkers in phase 1 oncology clinical trials dosing studies'.
Steve Potts, director, biopharma, Aperio, presenting 'Use of microvessel analysis for angiogenesis applications' and 'Scanner and pathologist precision in immunohistochemistry analysis: results of a multisite study with 240 ER, PR and HER2 slides'.
Steven Hashagen, software manager, tissue microarrays, Aperio, presenting 'Setting up Spectrum Plus in toxicological pathology environments'.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to network and discuss key research issues and best practices with Aperio experts and other scientists.
