Ondax, a manufacturer of volume holographic gratings, expands its product portfolio with the introduction of multi-mode fibre pigtailed, single-mode wavelength stabilised laser diodes
The PowerLocker VHG is a volume holographic glass grating which diffracts a defined efficiency at a specific wavelength.
The gratings increase spectral brightness of laser diodes, locking their wavelength and increasing temperature stability and yield.
The PowerLocker VHG is available in wavelengths from 350nm to 3microns.
The stabilised lasers have a narrow linewidth of <50MHz.
Wavelength stabilisation is achieved by optical feedback using the Ondax volume holographic grating (VHG), PowerLocker.
Lawrence Ho, product line manager, lasers, said: "Ondax has introduced this new pigtailed laser product line to offer our customers increased flexibility in their system design.
"Customer response to our stabilised lasers has been consistent; these are rock-solid lasers that do not exhibit any mode hopping.
"Our customers are using these lasers in many applications where a true single mode, robust laser with a small footprint is essential to enable, for example, their handheld products.
"Furthermore, our TO can package allows for direct drop in replacement without any time consuming and costly redesign of existing systems and instrumentation.
"This is critical in today's competitive market".
The lasers are packaged in standard 5.6mm TO cans, fibre pigtailed, and include a FC/APC connector.
Standard wavelengths are; 636-640nm with greater than 4mW output power, 654-662nm with greater than 15mW output power, 681-685nm with greater than 20mW output power, 780.25nm and 781-789nm with greater than 40mW output power.
Custom wavelengths, TO-can diodes, and fibre coupled modules are also available.
Applications include raman spectroscopy, flow cytometry, metrology, bio instrumentation, graphic arts, analytical instrumentation, sensing, data storage, and many more.
