Manufacturer of volume holographic gratings and single-mode wavelength stabilised laser diodes has introduced a new product line of ASE suppression filters
These filters remove unwanted spontaneous emission from blue-violet laser sources, thereby improving detection in Raman and fluorescence applications as well as enhancing photodetector calibration.
Eric Maye, product line manager for Ondax VHG PowerLockers, said: "We have been manufacturing wavelength stabilised lasers for over three years and with the recent introduction of our single longitudinal mode 405nm lasers, we realised that there were no filters available at these blue wavelengths, so we introduced these ASE suppression filters at 405nm.
"The filters provide our Raman and fluorescence customers with a method to enhance detection systems by increasing signal to noise ratios.
"Our ASE filters provide >30dB suppression at 0.5nm from the laser wavelength.
"The bandwidth of the filter is 0.05nm with 70% transmission and can be tuned over a 10nm wavelength to precisely match the laser wavelength.
"We can also provide customers with ASE suppression filters at custom wavelengths."
