Air Products has extended its range of top grade calibration mixtures, providing accuracy and traceability for the most demanding analytical applications such as air emissions monitoring
These multi-component gas mixtures, which are part of the Experis range of specialty gases, are available in a wide range of concentrations - down to ppb levels - and come with a calibration certificate from one of Air Products's ISO 17025 accredited laboratories.
This certification confirms their suitability for demanding applications which require the lowest levels of uncertainties such as air quality monitoring systems; vehicle exhaust monitoring systems and natural gas analysers.
The new extended range of ultra high accuracy gas mixtures are produced at Air Products's European Specialty Gases Laboratory which is accredited to ISO 17025 by Enac (Entidad Nacional de Acreditacion).
Due to the European multilateral agreement that exists between several European accreditation bodies, this means that the ISO 17025 certification fulfils Ukas standards in the UK and similar standards that apply in other parts of Europe.
Lieve de Paepe, European product manager analytical and laboratories, Air Products, says: "By extending this accreditation to a wider range of calibration gases, we are providing an unbeatable assurance of accuracy and traceability for use in some of the most critical industrial measurement applications.
"For air emissions monitoring, for example, we can produce calibration mixtures containing components like nitrogen or sulphur oxides and carbon monoxide at ultra low concentrations, as low as 400ppb, in air or in nitrogen, in order to achieve the most accurate calibration possible.
"More accurate measurement of emission levels can also help to reduce the bill for environmental charges significantly.
The new gas mixtures also provide an assurance of stability, even when the most reactive components are used, which ensures long mixture life.
"This stability is achieved by choosing the most suitable cylinder treatment, preparation and filling techniques, according to the components used in each mixture".
