Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced the Capit-All screw cap tube capper/decapper, a new automated system for removing and replacing 96-format screw-cap storage tubes
The co-branded Thermo Scientific and the Automation Partnership (TAP) Capit-All is designed to improve laboratory efficiency and increase the throughput of screening applications and the compact bench-top system will fit easily into any laboratory.
The instrument's robust design ensures reliable access and storage of samples in Thermo Scientific Matrix, Nunc and other screw-cap storage tubes, while reducing the risk of repetitive strain injury associated with manual decapping.
The simple four-button user interface enables laboratory personnel of any level to operate the instrument.
The Capit-All includes a special 'anti-binding' feature that prevents cross-threading and maintains seal integrity with pre-determined torque control.
With the system, a drip tray and the air vacuum capability prevents contamination of samples during entry and removal, while the instrument's high-quality engineering ensures samples remain debris-free.
For ultimate sample and assay protection, it is also tolerant to specific de-contamination regimes based on hydrogen peroxide.
