Global FIA has introduced a compact robotic plate sampler loaded with features for small batch operations and simple bench operations
Designed to accommodate a single standard 96-well or 384-well plate, the 8.5x13.5x7inch plate sampler provides a means of sequentially or randomly accessing any well on the plate.
A single command switches from 96-well to 384-well mode of operation.
The plate sampler can be used as either a fraction collector or auto-sampler for small volume applications.
Other non-standard taller plates can also be accommodated.
A wash station provides a means of rinsing the dispense needle between operations.
The desired wash sequence can be configured by the user.
Global FIA also has various wash port configurations to address specific needle or probe washing requirements.
The fluid dispense head is equipped with a universal 1/4-28 bulkhead fitting with a standard luer connector.
This popular fitting allows other dispense configurations or even the attachment of a miniature pH probe or optrode to conduct measurement in-situ.
The depth position of the dispense tip in the well is user-configurable with a setting that remembers the positioning from one day to the next.
The RS-485 port and embedded control software allow the plate sampler to be used on its own or together with other RS-485 devices.
Each command is preceded with a unique address and this allows more than one plate sampler to be addressed on a single RS-485 loop.
In addition, provision is made to allow control via an RS-232 port for single device implementations.
The plate sampler responds to a simple but versatile ASCII command set and is easily controlled by most terminal emulation programs.
