MatriCal has recently launched the Atta leaf cutter, which automates the tedious steps involved in grain leaf sample preparation while maintaining leaf integrity
Grain leaf samples are cut into 6mm wide segments and then transferred into test plates by a pneumatically actuated Cartesian robotic arm, ensuring accurate leaf placement.
This high throughput system allows for a greater number of screens overall and more effective use of scientists' time.
The leaf cutter system has proven to reduce one scientists' experiment time by 75% and allowed him to see a 100% return on investment in less than 12 months.
This system can be customised for environmental control and prepares 96-well format sample plates at the rate of 25 per hour./
