Velocity11 has announced a technical poster that describes an automated serial-dilution protocol using the Bravo Liquid Handling Platform.
The poster explores the parameters that lead to an efficient, precise and accurate serial dilution protocol.
Mix parameters are essential for a robust serial-dilution task.
Using the Bravo Liquid Handling Platform, researchers have developed a way of isolating the parameters of mixing (mixing speed, mix height, mix cycles and dynamic tip movement during a mix step) that in turn lead to faster, accurate and precise serial dilution operations.
It has nine standard deck positions that can hold any SBS standard microplate.
These positions can also be configured for heating, cooling, shaking and tip washing.
The design of the head, along with various tip and head options, allows serial dilutions to be performed by column or row, from 300nL to 200uL dilutions.
Using the VWorks software package, the serial-dilution wizard lets the operator program the instrument for making serial dilutions.
The operator can either determine the transfer based on initial volumes (transfer by volume) or by a concentration gradient (transfer by concentration).
