Oxford Expression Technologies (OET) has announced the release of Flashbacultra, the latest addition to the Flashbac stable.
Flashbacultra is a baculovirus vector that incorporates the deletion of chitinase, cathepsin, p10, p74 and p26 genes from the virus genome.
The deletion of chitinase, cathepsin, p10, p74 + p26 results in decreased overall genetic load on virus genome, and OET said produce the following advantages: increased recombinant protein transcription from the polehedrin promoter; more efficient transport through the endoplasmic reticulum; increased cellular stability and longevity; increased recombinant protein secretion; increased recombinant protein yield; reduced proteolysis and degradation; and increased recombinant protein quality.
James Bernard, co-investor and acting chief executive officer at OET, said: 'The system includes further modifications to the virus genome that further enhance the secretion and yield of recombinant protein.'
