Progen Scientific has signed a non-exclusive agreement with MSE to allow the company to provide a range of centrifuges.
The range includes the MSE Micro Centaur Plus, Centaur 2 Bench-top, Hawk 15/05 refrigerated microcentrifuge, Harrier 18/80r, Falcon 6/300, and the Falcon 6/300r.
The Micro Centaur Plus has a choice of five rotors from the 24 x 2.2/1.5ml to the 24 x 50mm haematocrit rotor.
It features a compact and lightweight design; timer control up to 99 minutes or 'pulse' button for quick spin; quiet operation with brushless induction motor and aerodynamically designed rotors; electronically controlled lid lock with indicator light to show when rotor has stopped; and a choice of three acceleration and braking rates and nine programs.
The Centaur 2 Bench-top features smooth, quiet operation with brushless induction motor; lid lock which prevents lid being opened while centrifuge is running and four-point burst proof lid fixing; four rotors to choose from (swing-out or angle); and 200ml slotted, sealed cups designed for the safe containment of potentially hazardous samples and tested and approved for use by CAMR, Porton Down, England.
The Hawk 15/05 refrigerated microcentrifuge is designed for use in a number of applications.
Its features include: brushless drive inverter controlled motor; set-up and run in RPM or RCF (and RCF conversion); full lid interlock and gas strut lid opening; rotor in-place detection; overspeed protection system and rotor code for RCF programming; pulse button for short runs; last run memory; self-diagnostics; optional sealing lid for rotors; and compact size designed to comply with BS EN 61010-2-020:1995.
The Harrier 18/80r is the next step up from the Hawk.
Its features include: fast, efficient cooling and pre-cool facility; selectable temperature range -9C to +40C; set and run in RPM or RCF with instant RCF reading; imbalance detection system; automatic rotor identification system; overspeed protection system; key lock facility and superior lid lock mechanism with full lid interlock which prevents lid being opened before rotor has stopped; self-diagnostics; removable stainless steel inner bowl; and designed to comply with BS EN 61010-2-020:1995.
The Falcon 6/300 is a non-refrigerated model similar to the Harrier and has many of the same features except that it includes a higher speed, up to 5,600rpm and high capacity swing-out rotor, four x 750ml.
With 10 acceleration and 10 brake rates, 49 programme memory and self-diagnostics this model is designed for regular use and high volume operation.
The Falcon 6/300r is the refrigerated version of the Falcon.
The additions to the non-refrigerated model include: fast, efficient cooling; pre-cool facility; and selectable temperature range -9C to +40C.
