Perkin Elmer Life and Analytical Sciences has announced its partnership with the Water Environment Federation's and the International Water Association's World Water Monitoring Day.
The World Water Monitoring Day is an international outreach programme that builds global public awareness of and involvement in protecting water resources by engaging community members to perform basic monitoring tests of local rivers, streams, estuaries and other bodies of water.
PerkinElmer will be encouraging employees and customers to participate in World Water Monitoring Day through a series of targeted communications that include education about how to use the kit.
In 2007, more than 46,000 people worldwide participated in monitoring 3,544 sites.
Participants can monitor the water quality in local water bodies and send the results back to WEF for analysis.
Results are then shared with participants through the World Water Monitoring Day website.
