Thermo Fisher Scientific has added colour to a range of its QPCR master mixes, PCR plates and PCR master mixes to optimise results in terms of reproducibility, sensitivity and accuracy.
The company is inviting life scientists around the world to sample complimentary packs of Thermo Scientific colour products to experience firsthand how colour can improve their PCR and QPCR results.
The inert red dye in Thermo Scientific ReddyMix PCR buffers and master mixes allows the solution to be easily visualised in the reaction wells, thereby ensuring error-free pipetting and accurate PCR analysis.
It also allows samples to be loaded directly onto agarose gel for post-PCR analysis without the need for adding a gel-loading dye, minimising pipetting and reagent handling steps.
The Thermo Scientific ABgene SuperPlates are available in white - a colour that permits optimum light transmission and efficient fluorescence detection during QPCR reactions, ensuring improved sensitivity and consistency of results.
The blue colour in Thermo Scientific ABsolute Blue and Verso master mixes provides immediate, visual confirmation of accurate pipetting, minimising false results and ensuring good reproducibility in QPCR and RT-QPCR reactions.
This is particularly important when using white plates, which improve light transmission but make it difficult to see colourless solutions.
