Matrix Microscience and Golden CO has announced the launch of its simultaneous, same-day dual test for E coli O157 and salmonella in raw beef and produce.
The Pathatrix dual test can simultaneously detect the presence of low volumes of 1-10 cfu/sample in eight hours.
The key to this approach is the high volume of sample that Pathatrix can analyse, coupled with the use of highly specific antibody coated beads.
Matrix Microscience said the benefits of the test include: a single, non-proprietary enrichment broth; completion in eight hours when coupled to real-time PCR; can be done individually or in a five pooled format; and sensitivity of 1-10 cfu/sample of both organisms in raw ground beef and raw produce.
