Witt has announced the launch of its enhanced Oxybaby hand-held gas analyser for packaging line, warehouse and laboratory food packaging analysis.
Oxybaby is available in two versions to measure either the O2 or the CO2 content in the smallest food packages, such as salami and cheese slices, as well as other food packaging including poultry and salads Oxybaby has a number of new features including more information storage allowing more than 500 different data measurements to be stored, a larger display with more 'at a glance' information, simpler to operate function keys and menu structure, and a single USB port for data transfer and battery charging.
It also offers protection against measurement errors caused by needle/filter blockage.
Where the unit's variably controlled pump action fails to get a reading, a message is displayed to prevent any faulty measurement.
As with earlier models, this new version requires a minimal 4ml gas sample in modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) to obtain a reading.
It has a packaging line/product type record capability allowing the user to identify and record O2 or CO2 samples, the packaging line number or the type of product from which the sample was taken, and date and time information.
Oxybaby weighs 600g, takes a maximum six seconds to obtain a reading, and is ideal for random sampling.
Other features include a built-in needle, and the data can be downloaded onto a computer or printer using Witt-Logger software, a Windows-based program with filter functions for information editing such as procedure changes and part numbers for individual customers.
