Metrohm has announced that it has optimised its rotating Pt-disk electrode for cyclic voltammetric stripping (CVS) applications.
The electrode has a platinum diameter of 1mm and has been specially developed for use in CVS analyses.
It can also be used in research for recording cyclic voltammograms (CV).
Metrohm said rapid conditioning means that little time is lost on preparation steps, and means users can start measuring sooner than previously possible.
Further advantages of the electrode include reproducibility of the measurements, lower background current and resistance to concentrated acids, oxidants and organic solvents.
Each electrode comes with an individual quality certificate.
The test CV contained in the certificate is a fingerprint of the electrode at the time of delivery.
It can be compared at any time with a currently recorded CV, therefore allowing assessment of the current condition of the electrode.
The electrode can be used with existing methods without problems.
Only minor adaptations need to be made to existing CPVS methods in order to get the usual results.
