Michael Smith Engineers has introduced the MZR 7255 series of micro annular gear pumps.
These hermetically sealed, chemically inert pumps use rotary micro annular gear technology that ensures precise dosage and low pulsation, so they are particularly suited to pharmaceutical applications where there is demand for smaller, more efficient production lines.
Smaller plants can be run continuously, helping maintain product consistency as well as contributing to savings in space and running costs.
The MZR 7255 pump features rotors, bearings and shaft components made from materials such as ceramics and SSiC (sintered silicone carbide), and these materials, combined with a magnetic coupling, enable the pump to operate effectively in the most demanding fluid transfer applications.
Typical applications include liquid sampling and micro-reaction in chemical engineering, dosing additives, spray technology, inks and paint dosing in production systems, and DNA analysis and insulin dispensing in analytical, medical and biotechnology.
These compact pumps measure 146mm x 70mm x 72mm and weigh approximately 3,300g.
They incorporate a precision motor and easy-to use control functions, and are designed for flows from 0.048ml to 288ml per minute and a maximum system pressure of 80 bar.
