Phenomenex has announced the addition of a Shimadzu gas chromatography (GC)-compatible model to its Cool-Lock Nut line.
The company said the device's low thermal mass design allows it to cool rapidly, eliminating finger burning when changing columns.
It is also said to simplify GC column installation.
The majority of GC problems originate in the injection port because precise column installation has always been challenging.
Phenomenex said the Cool-Lock Nut enables proper installation depth without the need for wrenches or other tools, and reduces the time required to switch columns.
The Phenomenex Cool-Lock Nut works with all standard GC columns.
