Biotek Instruments, a developer and manufacturer of microplate instrumentation for drug discovery and life science solutions, has hired Dr Peter Banks as its scientific director.
Dr Banks will manage Biotek's Applications Group and provide key scientific leadership and direction in emerging trends, opportunities and scientific discovery.
Before joining Biotek he served as technology leader, bio-discovery, with Perkinelmer Life and Analytical Sciences.
From 2002 to 2005 he held a series of leadership roles with Perkinelmer, including research and development manager in Montreal and research and development portfolio leader for the life sciences business.
Dr Banks has a BSc in chemistry and a PhD in analytical chemistry from the University of British Columbia.
