Tecan has released version 2.2 of its Freedom Evoware software, making it easier to control pipetting and scheduling operations of Freedom Evo liquid-handling platforms.
Freedom Evoware 2.2 has the same graphical user interface as before but offers greater flexibility and ensures full compatibility with the latest hardware modules.
For example, Freedom Evoware 2.2 supports the 384-Multichannel Arm (MCA384).
This allows pipetting with 384 or 96 tips and pipetting of a single row or column of wells.
Nested disposable tips will soon be available for the MCA, helping to cut costs and increase flexibility.
Freedom Evoware software already supports nested tips stored in passive stacks on the worktable or in external Te-Stack modules.
This maximises walk-away time.
Freedom Evoware now runs under Windows Vista as well as Windows XP, allowing users to monitor the instrument remotely through a web page or a Windows Vista gadget.
Process security has been enhanced by extending recovery protocols to work within worklists and system add-ons.
Data management has been improved by enabling scripts and processes to be stored in user-defined folders.
A script navigator speeds up access of any section of short or long scripts.
