Excel Scientific has launched ThermalSeal RTS films, based on 3M 9795 material, that combine clear 50um polyolefin with a 50um encapsulated silicone adhesive layer.
This construction provides for good performance in real-time qPCR, crystallisation, and storage applications.
The chemically inert silicone is non-tacky for easy handling until pressed to a microplate, releasing adhesive in sealing areas only.
Adhesion is among the strongest available for evaporation protection.
The films are RNase and DNase free, DMSO resistant, and exhibit minimal auto-fluorescence.
They are sized to fit within the rim of any standard raised-rim plate.
Recommended temperatures are -70C to +100C.
