International consulting company Frost and Sullivan has announced that it will confer the '2006 Growth Strategy Leadership Award' in the market segment of moisture analysis to the Sartorius Group.
Before selecting Sartorius, Frost and Sullivan had conducted a comprehensive analysis of world physical properties instrumentation markets.
As part of this analysis, numerous interviews with customers and users were conducted, and the growth strategies of the market participants as well as secondary sources were analysed.
Frost and Sullivan emphasised in explaining its selection that Sartorius succeeded in considerably increasing its global market share in moisture analysis in 2005.
In particular, Sartorius set itself apart from the competition by providing extensive application support services.
By making acquisitions in the USA (Sartorius Instrument Omnimark, Denver Instrument), the company also extended its regional presence and customer base.
Moreover, through intensive cooperation with scientific institutes, Sartorius sets the standards in new measurement procedures and technologies.
"During the past years, we focused on propelling the systematic expansion of our product portfolio for moisture analysis".

Equipment for measurement of the moisture in materials and for determination of the water content is used during incoming inspection and process control in a wide variety of industries, such as the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries.
The processing capability of raw materials, the taste and shelf live of foods, and the accuracy for measuring the moisture content in samples in research laboratories all depend on the particular basic ingredients used.
